Today after breakfast, you will depart for Samburu National Reserve by road with a stop at the equator line, home to the rare and exotic wildlife species such as the Gerenuk, Rothschild Giraffe, Gravy’s Zebra, endangered Samburu monkeys, Beisa Oryx and large elephant herds arriving in Samburu in time for check-in and lunch. After lunch depart for afternoon game drives within the park. Samburu National Reserve is situated on the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River in dry northern Kenya. It is located in a hot and arid area characterized by a parched landscape of hills and plains. After breakfast, mid-morning game drive then leaves for Lake Naivasha which is the highest Lake in The Rift Valley arriving late afternoon. Lake Naivasha is famous in the 1930s as a staging post for Imperial Airways Flying Boat Services from Durban to London and you can see the Lake sparkling in the sun thousands of feet below. Proceed to the Sopa Lodge for lunch with a visit to the Hell’s Gate National Park past Fishers Tower in the afternoon. You will visit the Geothermal Power Plant at Ol Karia and the Hot Springs. Hell’s Gate is the only park that officially allows transport by walking and bicycling. The small perimeters of the park give you a chance to see a variety of wildlife. Very early in the morning breakfast then depart for Nairobi airport for your flight to Entebbe International Airport. Our driver-guide picks you up from Entebbe to start your safari to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in western Uganda. You will drive towards South Western Uganda going through Mpigi (Stop at the Uganda Equator for photo shoots), Uganda Equator is an imaginary point where the Northern Hemisphere separates from the Southern Hemisphere, and itÂs a tourist spot for photo taking and handicraft shopping. There are also different souvenirs shops at the Equator where you can buy souvenirs. Proceed with the journey have lunch at Mbarara town (50 minutes lunch break). After lunch, you will proceed with the journey as you admire the beautiful gardens, farms and hills of Ankole region. You will arrive at the park in the evening. Get breakfast and be escorted to the park offices to begin your adventure. You will get some briefing from a local guide and then set off to the forest. The time taken is usually 3- 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Coming face to face with these mountain gorillas is one of the most electrifying experiences you can ever have. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures and you will enjoy them from a close range observing adults feeding, groaning and resting as the youngsters play and move backwards and forwards in a pleasantly comical demonstration. It lies 150 miles south-east of Nairobi, very close to the Tanzania border. The snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds dominates every aspect of Amboseli and the Observation Hill which allows an overall view of the whole park especially the swamps and elephants. Very Early morning breakfast, after breakfast the journey continues via Namanga border for border formalities into the North West across the stunning hilly countryside of the highlands which is filled with wheat and coffee plantations, and then into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After breakfast you depart for Ngorongoro viewing game across the vast Serengeti plains, stopping off at Olduvai Gorge en route. The Gorge acquired its name from the Sansevieria bush that grows profusely in the area, named Olduvai by the Maasai. The Gorge is about 50km long and in some places around 90m deep and is found between the Crater and the Serengeti. It was first discovered by a German entomologist named Professor Kattwinkel, who instigated an expedition just before the First World War. Later, the exploration was continued by Dr Louis Leakey and his wife, who in 1959 found humanoid remains of Zinjanthropus, later renamed Australapithicus Boisei, an early form of man. You will have time to walk through the simple small museum at the gorge, where you can view copy displays of some of the finds as well as pictures of what life was like for the gorge’s earliest inhabitants.
