Today after breakfast you drive to Nanyuki to this Conservancy which is a 90,000-acre not-for-profit wildlife conservancy in Central Kenya’s Laikipia County. It is situated on the equator west of Nanyuki, between the foothills of the Aberdares and Mount Kenya. The conservancy is home to a variety of animals including the “Big Five”. Today after breakfast you will depart for The Aberdares National Park, an area of 767 Km2 covers the higher areas of the Aberdare Mountain Ranges of Central Kenya, from altitude of 1829M to 4001M above sea level. The topography is quite diverse with deep ravines that cut through the forested eastern and western slopes. Animals easily observed in the park include; the Black Rhino, leopard, baboon, black and white Colobus monkey and sykes monkey. Rarer sightings include those of lions, the golden cat and the bongo- an elusive forest antelope that lives in the bamboo forest. Animals like the eland and spotted and melanistic serval cats can be found higher up in the moorlands. Proceed for lunch followed by a drive back to Nairobi for your flight back home. After a hearty breakfast depart for L. Very early in the morning breakfast then depart for Nairobi airport for your flight to Entebbe International Airport. Our driver-guide picks you up from Entebbe to start your safari to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in western Uganda. You will drive towards South Western Uganda going through Mpigi (Stop at the Uganda Equator for photo shoots), Uganda Equator is an imaginary point where the Northern Hemisphere separates from the Southern Hemisphere, and itÂs a tourist spot for photo taking and handicraft shopping. Get breakfast and be escorted to the park offices to begin your adventure. You will get some briefing from a local guide and then set off to the forest. The time taken is usually 3- 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Coming face to face with these mountain gorillas is one of the most electrifying experiences you can ever have. After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Arusha then proceed to Ngorongoro viewing game across the vast Serengeti plains, stopping off at Olduvai Gorge en route. The Gorge acquired its name from the Sansevieria bush that grows profusely in the area, named Olduvai by the Maasai. The Gorge is about 50km long and in some places around 90m deep and is found between the Crater and the Serengeti. It was first discovered by a German entomologist named Professor Kattwinkel, who instigated an expedition just before the First World War. Later, the exploration was continued by Dr Louis Leakey and his wife, who in 1959 found humanoid remains of Zinjanthropus, later renamed Australapithicus Boisei, an early form of man. You will have time to walk through the simple small museum at the gorge, where you can view copy displays of some of the finds as well as pictures of what life was like for the gorge’s earliest inhabitants.
