Today after breakfast you will receive a short introduction and briefing about your safari and stay in our beloved motherland. After the briefing, a tour of the Giraffe Manor to experience resident Rothschild’s giraffe who may visit morning and evening, sometimes poking their long necks into the windows in the hope of a treat, before retreating to their forest sanctuary, check-in with lunch then proceed to Karen Blixen, represented in the Academy Award-winning film ‘Out of Africa’, followed by a visit to the David Sheldrick Elephants Sanctuary at 5.00p.m. for Private bottle feeding of the Baby Elephants for “Foster Parents”. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight at Giraffe Manor
Today after breakfast you will depart for Samburu National Reserve by road with a stop at the equator line with lunch on the way at a local restaurant, home to the rare and exotic wildlife species such as the Gerenuk, Rothschild Giraffe, Gravy’s Zebra, endangered Samburu monkeys, Beisa Oryx and large elephant herds arriving in Samburu in time for check-in and lunch. After lunch depart for afternoon game drives within the park. Samburu National Reserve is situated on the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River in dry northern Kenya. It is located in a hot and arid area characterized by a parched landscape of hills and plains. After breakfast, you will have a full day free with night game viewing in this landscape which is rich with varied game including elephant, eland, buffalo, zebra, bushbuck, duiker, bush pig, Gerenuk, Plains game and the big cats like cheetah, leopard and lion. Today after breakfast you drive to Nanyuki to the Ol Pajeta Conservancy with game drive en-route. Ol Pejeta Conservancy lies in a 90,000-acre not-for-profit wildlife conservancy in Central Kenya’s Laikipia County arriving in good time for lunch with afternoon game viewing. It is situated on the equator west of Nanyuki, between the foothills of the Aberdares and Mount Kenya. The conservancy is home to a variety of animals including the “Big Five”. It is the largest sanctuary in East Africa for the endangered Black Rhino and is also a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees. Dinner and overnight Sweet Water Serena Camp
After breakfast, you will depart from the lodge and exit the park and be driven to the naturally heated spa pool; Lake Bogoria, which is also an alkaline lake and home to flamingos and hot springs/geysers which emit hot vapour from the core of the earth. After a hearty breakfast depart for L. Nakuru National Park to be there in time for lunch and an evening game drive at 16:00hrs, besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for; there are approx 400 other species of birds in the lake, Also many species of game found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game. Take an extensive full day game drive into the reserve covered with rolling grasslands dotted with acacia and hazy forested hills and riverine bush where the Mara River and its tributaries meander, Maasai Mara is considered by many to be Kenya’s finest game reserve, the 1510 sq Kms of this reserve adjoin Tanzania’s well-known Serengeti, forming one eco-system. After breakfast, mid-morning game drive then leave for Lake Naivasha which is the highest Lake in The Rift Valley arriving late afternoon. Lake Naivasha is famous in the 1930s as a staging post for Imperial Airways Flying Boat Services from Durban to London and you can see the Lake sparkling in the sun thousands of feet below. Proceed to the Sopa Lodge for lunch followed by afternoon boat ride and a visit to the Hell’s Gate National Park past Fishers Tower if time allows. You will visit the Geothermal Power Plant at Ol Karia and the Hot Springs. Hell’s Gate is the only park that officially allows transport by walking and bicycling. Today after breakfast, you will depart for Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain; Kilimanjaro, is one of Kenya’s most popular national parks arriving in good time for lunch with afternoon game drive. It lies 150 miles south-east of Nairobi, very close to the Tanzania border. The snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds dominates every aspect of Amboseli and the Observation Hill which allows an overall view of the whole park especially the swamps and elephants.
